Tyler Shrout is in his third year at Birmingham-Southern College and is responsible for the pitching staff under Head Coach Jan Weisberg.  Other responsibilities include camp administration, recruiting assistance, and field maintenance.

This past summer Shrout served as Head Coach of the Alabama Bombers travel team.  Before being hired at BSC, Shrout was also the pitching coach for the Kentucky Baseball Club travel team in Lexington, Kentucky, during the summer of 2006. 

Shrout played his college baseball at Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky., from 2002-2006 where he was two-time First-Team All-Heartland Conference as a pitcher.  Shrout holds records for the lowest career ERA in Transylvania history as well as most strikeouts and innings pitched for a single season.  In his four years Shout helped transition Transylvania’s baseball team from NAIA to Division III and helped lead them to their first ever conference tournament.

At TU, Shrout served on the Student Advisory Committee for two years.  As a representative of the baseball program, the committee’s responsibility was to improve the communication between the Athletic Department and student athlete.

Shrout played summer baseball for the Wayne County Raptors of the New York Collegiate League in 2005 where he was selected to the 2005 East All-Star game and led the team with a 6-0 record and a 1.62 ERA.  He received the Team Leadership Award.

Shrout received a B.A. degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Transylvania University in May of 2006.
