Inaugural class of Sigma Alpha Alpha Honor Society announced

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Southern Athletic Association has formed a new honor society for graduating seniors, and eight members of the Birmingham-Southern class of 2016 have qualified.

The graduating senior must have achieved a 3.5 or higher cumulative grade point average, and have been voted either First- or Second-Team All-Conference at any point during their career.

The members of the inaugural class of Sigma Alpha Alpha Honor Society are:

Lauren Bedford (Volleyball | Trussville, Ala.)

Yorisha Bryant (Women's Basketball | Los Angeles, Calif.)

Nick Maxey (Football | Leeds, Ala.)

Katie McCormack (Volleyball | Germantown, Tenn.)

Avery Newcomb (Women's Soccer | Madison, Ala.)

Shana O'Brien (Women's Lacrosse (Toms River, N.J.)

Jessie Sperry (Women's Soccer | Powder Springs, Ga.)

Molly Waddell (Swimming and Diving | Florence, Ala.)
