Elizabeth Lawinger, a native of Platteville, Wis., came to Birmingham-Southern in July 2013 as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Her primary responsibilities are men's and women's soccer, women's basketball, softball, cross country and track and field. Lawinger is a nationally certified athletic trainer by the NATABOC and is licensed by the Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers.
Lawinger is a 2011 graduate of University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, in La Crosse, Wis., where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in nutrition. Following graduation, she attended the University of Kentucky to pursue a Master of Science in Athletic Training. During her two years at UK, Lawinger was a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Centre College in Danville, Ky. She was responsible for field hockey, women's lacrosse, men's and women's cross country, men's and women's track and field, men's and women's swimming and diving, and was also the rehabilitation coordinator for all athletes' rehabilitation programs.
In her free time, Lawinger enjoys being outdoors, being active, and spending time with friends and family.
