Kyle Southall, originally from Roseville, Ohio, joined the Birmingham-Southern Athletic Training staff in August 2012 as an assistant Athletic Trainer, then began his tenure as Head Athletic Trainer in June 2013. His primary coverage responsibilities are football, men's basketball, and baseball. Southall is a nationally certified athletic trainer by the NATABOC and is licensed by the Alabama Board of Athletic Trainers. He also assists in the strength and conditioning of a variety of athletes on campus.
Southall is a 2010 graduate of Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. He then went to West Virginia University where he received a Master's of Science of Athletic Training in 2012. During his two years at WVU, Southall was a graduate assistant athletic trainer covering football, men's basketball, and baseball at Waynesburg University in Waynesburg, Pa. He was also an adjunct professor in the athletic training and sports science department at Waynesburg University. Also while at WVU, Southall became level-1 Graston trained and became a certified Performance Enhancement Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine.
In his free time, Southall enjoys running and being a weekend warrior softball and flag football player. He also likes to spend time with his family, fishing and traveling.
