Mike Robinson has been associated with Birmingham-Southern
athletics for over 25 years now.
His current role involves the oversight of BSC's athletic
facilities, including the Larry D. Striplin Physical Fitness and
Recreation Center, the intramural sports program on campus and
fitness and wellness programming for BSC students, faculty and
staff.
Robinson came to BSC in 1984 as director of fitness and also
served as athletic director from 1993 until 1998 before BSC's move
to NCAA Division I athletics commenced.
In May of 2005, Robinson recieved the Bob Strain Distinguished
Service Award for his outstanding contribution to BSC Athletics
during his career on the Hilltop.
Prior to his move to the Hilltop, Robinson earned a master's
degree in adult fitness from the University of Alabama (1984). His
bachelor's degree in education (1978) is from Middle Tennessee
State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn., where he was a standout
place kicker for the Blue Raider football team. At one point,
Robinson held several of MTSU's place-kicking records.
In his spare time, Robinson is an avid racquetball player and fan
of drag racing. The Memphis, Tenn., native is married to the former
Nicole Rohrabaugh. They have two sons, Bradley and Mitchell.
