Irene Whiddon joined the BSC staff in September of 1989 and has served in four different capacities for the College.

She has been a secretary in the Interim and Contract Learning Office, the Office of Health Services, and the Office of Physical Fitness and Recreation.

In 1993, the Office of Athletics was added to her role and she was assigned the duties of assistant in the departments of athletics and physical fitness and recreation. Her primary responsibilities include administrative facilitation and assistance of the athletic administrative staff as well as the administrative staff of the physical fitness and recreation staff members.

She and her husband, Jack, have two grown sons, Jeremy (a Birmingham-Southern graduate) and Andy (a chiropractor at Lincoln Chiropractic) and two grandchildren, Jack (3) and Mariah (1). The Whiddons reside in Eagle Point on the south side of Birmingham.
