Quiggle Scores Sudden Death Goal, Panthers Win 2-1
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team defeated Covenant College 2-1 Tuesday night in overtime on Goldfarb Field. Connor Quiggle (Franklin, Tenn./Franklin HS) scored the game winner two minutes into extra minutes. BSC improved to 7-1 overall with the win.

Panthers Win Quayle Classic, Raney Individual Champion
DANVILLE, Ind. – Gunnar Raney (Tampa, Fla./Plant HS) and the Birmingham-Southern men’s golf team won the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic at Twin Bridges Golf Club Sunday. Raney shot a 70 in round two to win the individual title by one shot. The Panthers took the team title by 16 shots.

Volleyball Sweeps Rhodes 3-0 in Conference Match
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team moved to 4-1 in Southern Athletic Association play Sunday afternoon in Bill Battle Coliseum with a 3-0 sweep over Rhodes College. BSC, who improved to 11-3 overall, hit .386 as a team.

Raney Hits Hole-in-One; Panthers Tied for First
DANVILLE, Ind. – Freshman Gunnar Raney (Tampa, Fla./Plant HS) hit a hole-in-one on the 16th hole Saturday en route to a team low score of 75 and a tie for fourth place at the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic. The Panthers are tied for first place after the first round at the Twin Bridges Golf Club.

Andrews’ Goal Gives Panthers to 2-1 OT Win
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s soccer won its Southern Athletic Association home opener in dramatic fashion Saturday on Goldfarb Field. Tayler Andrews (Watkinsville, Ga./Oconee County HS) drilled a long shot from the top middle of the box on a pass from Ivy Painter (Jackson, Miss./St. Andrew’s Episcopal HS) in the 99th minute to lift the Panthers to a 2-1 overtime win against Hendrix College. BSC improved to 4-5 overall, 1-0 in the SAA with the win.

Panthers Pick Up Third Shutout Win in SAA Home Opener
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team earned its third shutout win of the season in their Southern Athletic Association home opener Saturday afternoon, topping Hendrix College 3-0. The Panthers remain undefeated at home, improving to 6-1 overall, 1-0 in the SAA.

Panthers Battle Tough Against Ranked Opponents at Home
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team hosted two ranked teams in Bill Battel Coliseum Saturday. The Panthers battled tough but fell 3-0 to No. 20 Hendrix College and No. 8 Emory University to move to 10-3 overall on the year, and 1-1 in Southern Athletic Association play.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern football team could not find an answer to Washington University’s second half push, falling 36-21 Saturday afternoon in Krulak Stadium in front of 1,252 fans. The Panthers move to 1-3 overall and 1-1 in Southern Athletic Association play.

Volleyball Earns 3-0 Sweep of Millsaps
JACKSON, Miss. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team improved to 3-0 in Southern Athletic Association play, 10-1 overall, with its 3-0 win at Millsaps College Wednesday night. Jeneva Salter (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones HS) finished with a game-high 10 kills, hitting .350.

Cross Country Competes at Montevallo Falcon Classic
MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College men’s and women’s cross country team finished 10th and ninth, respectively, at the 2016 Montevallo Falcon Classic. Chris Roberts (Huntsville, Ala./Huntsville HS) posted the Panther’s top male time, finishing 10th overall out of 136 runners.

Second Half Goal Lifts Panthers Over Hampden-Sydney
HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team made the most of its shot opportunities Sunday en route to a 2-1 win over Hampden-Sydney College. Josh Wild (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood HS) scored the game winner in the 60th minute. The Panthers finished second in the Tiger/Wildcat Classic and had four named to the all-tournament team.

DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern College women’s volleyball team improved to 9-1, 2-0 in Southern Athletic Association play Sunday with a 3-0 win over Centre College. The Panthers hit .355 as a team in the first set. The win is their third straight sweep.

Football Holds Off Sewanee for 21-16 Win
SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern football team picked up its first win of the season Saturday afternoon in a 21-16 victory over Southern Athletic Association rival Sewanee on the road. The Panthers (1-2) outrushed Sewanee 234-173 in the win.

LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team fell 2-0 Saturday at Randolph College for their first loss of the year. The Panthers (4-1) earned more corners and more shots on goal than Randolph, but could not get through to score.

SEWANEE, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team opened Southern Athletic Association play with a 3-0 win at Sewanee Saturday. It was a team effort for the Panthers who improved to 8-1 overall, 1-0 in the SAA. They hit .216 as a team and earned nine blocks.

LAGRANGE, Ga. – In their first match in nine days, the Birmingham-Southern men’s soccer team shutout LaGrange College 3-0 Wednesday night on Panther Field. Three seniors provided the goals to lift BSC to victory. The Panthers are now 4-0 on the year.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern men’s golf sits in seventh place at the Rhodes College Fall Classic after day one of competition. The Panthers had three finish under 75, led by Blake Schambeau (Hoove, Ala./Hoover HS) who is currently eighth overall out of 96.

Volleyball Finishes Blues City Invite Undefeated
MEMPHIS, Tenn. – With 3-1 wins over both Covenant and LeTourneau Saturday afternoon, the Birmingham-Southern women’s volleyball team finished the Blues City Invitational undefeated and improved 6-1 overall. Marjorie Ward (Winter Park, Fla./Winter Park HS) earned her third triple-double of the season in the win over LeTourneau. She also had a double-double against Covenant.

Slow Start Hinders Panthers at Huntingdon
MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College football team could not recover from a slow start Saturday night against Huntingdon College for the Wesley Cup. The Panthers fell 49-28 on the road. BSC still leads the Wesley Cup series 4-3 all-time.
