  • Weisberg, Himic Earn Big SAA Honors

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern collected 12 Southern Athletic Association All-Conference honors Friday. Stephen Himic (Birmingham, Ala./Indian Springs HS) was named Pitcher of the Year and Head Coach Jan Weisberg earned Coach of the Year honors.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s lacrosse team could not overcome a slow first half start and fell 8-3 to top seeded Rhodes College in the Southern Athletic Association semifinals Friday night.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 3 Birmingham-Southern baseball advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2017 Southern Athletic Association Tournament Friday after a 7-5 win over Centre College on Striplin Field. BSC (33-6) will face Berry College on Saturday, April 29 at 11 a.m. to determine who plays in the semifinals.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 3 Birmingham-Southern baseball is the top seed in the upcoming Southern Athletic Association Tournament and will be hosting first round games April 28-30. The Panthers (32-6, 19-2 SAA) welcome Centre College, Berry College and Sewanee to the Hilltop in a battle to see who will advance to the conference championship series.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Following an impressive performance at the Southern Athletic Association Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the Birmingham-Southern men’s team moved up 22 positions in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association national poll. The Panthers are now ranked 14th in the country and third in the South/Southeast Region.
  • SAA CHAMPION: LaMay Wins Individual Title, Men Finish Fourth

    MAUMELLE, Ark. – Steven LaMay (Parkland, Fla./Westminster Academy) shot a tournament low 68 to come back and tie for the Southern Athletic Association individual championship Sunday. The junior moved up 10 spots in the final round to earn the first conference title of his career.

    MAUMELLE, Ark. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s golf team concluded competition Sunday at the Southern Athletic Association Championships. Sarah Moon (Cordova, Tenn./St. George’s Independent School) finished fourth overall. The Panthers earned sixth as a team.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 4 Birmingham-Southern baseball held off a late rally by Sewanee Sunday to take the 7-6 win in the 10th inning. The game winner was scored on a walkoff hit by pitch with one out on the board. BSC (32-6, 19-2) has now won 16 of its last 17 games heading into the Southern Athletic Association tournament.
  • SAA CHAMPIONS: Men Defend Title, Women Finish Fifth

    MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Birmingham-Southern men’s outdoor track and field team successfully defended its Southern Athletic Association Title Saturday. The Panthers scored 81 more than Rhodes College with 227.5 points to win their second consecutive SAA championship. The women scored 102.5 points to finish fifth overall.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The No. 4 Birmingham-Southern baseball team swept Sewanee Saturday in its Southern Athletic Association doubleheader to improve to 31-6 overall, 18-2 in conference play. This is the fourth consecutive year the Panthers have had 30+ win seasons, and the seventh under Head Coach Jan Weisberg.

    CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team could not overcome a big third inning from Centre College Saturday morning and fell 8-0 in their third game of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament. The Panthers went 1-2 in the tournament to conclude their season at 22-18 overall.

BSC (9-6) advances to the semifinals against regular season champion Sewanee Saturday morning with the win.

    CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Birmingham-Southern softball team used a big fourth inning to help propel them to an 8-1 win over Hendrix College in the first round of the 2017 Southern Athletic Association Tournament Friday, but then fell 9-3 to regular season champion No. 3 Berry College. BSC is now 22-17 on the year.

    DANVILLE, Ky. – The Birmingham-Southern women’s lacrosse team nearly completed the comeback against Centre College Friday night in the first round of the Southern Athletic Association Tournament. BSC (6-10) fell 16-15 to end their season.

    ATLANTA – The SAA announced the 2017 Softball All-Conference Award winners at a banquet held at Warner Park in Chattanooga on Thursday evening. Top honors of Player of the Year and Pitcher of the Year were garnered by Rhodes' Christine Hume and Berry's Marie Collop, respectively. Kayla Davidson of Millsaps earned Newcomer of the Year and Berry's Cori Thiermann claimed Coach of the Year after guiding the Vikings to a 35-2 season.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Riding a four-game win streak, the Birmingham-Southern softball team hopes to take the momentum into the Southern Athletic Association Tournament this weekend. The Panthers (21-16, 8-8 SAA) are seeded fourth and open against fifth seed Hendrix College at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 21.
