Women Earn ITA All-Academic Team Award
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College women’s tennis team has earned its fifth Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team award in six years. Four Panthers received individual recognition, being named ITA Scholar-Athletes for their work on the court and in the classroom. BSC women’s tennis has had a Scholar-Athlete named in each of the past seven seasons.

2012 National Player of the Year Makes MLB Debut
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Former Birmingham-Southern College Panther and 2012 ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com National Player of the Year Bruce Maxwell, made his Major League Baseball debut on Saturday, July 23 for the Oakland Athletics. Maxwell was called up from Pacific Coast League Triple-A affiliate Nashville Sounds and pinch hit Saturday, before starting Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Three Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Three Birmingham-Southern College men’s golfers were named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Tanner Dixon (Hoover, Ala./Hoover HS), Torben Krieger (Ruppichteroth, Germany/Bodelschwingh-Gymnasium Herchen), and Patrick Newsom (Decatur, Ala./Decatur HS) were among the 41 recognized in all of NCAA Division III.

Women’s Soccer Announces Eight Additions to 2016 Roster
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern College women’s soccer welcomes an 8-member recruiting class for the upcoming 2016 season. The group will balance out a roster that includes seven upperclassmen and nine sophomores.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Nashville Sounds catcher Bruce Maxwell has been named the Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for his performance from July 11-17, the league announced today.

BSC Softball Adds Anderson to 2017 Roster
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern College Head Softball Coach Kimball Cassidy announced the addition of Taylor Anderson to the Panthers 2017 roster. She joins a BSC team that finished the 2016 season ranked No. 7 nationally and third in the Atlantic region.

Former Soccer Standout Guards the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ? Former Birmingham-Southern women?s soccer standout Ruth Hanks (?10) has earned the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Identification Badge while serving at Arlington National Cemetery. A Sergeant in the U.S. Army, Hanks is the fourth woman in history to earn the badge, and the first since 1998.

128 Student-Athletes Named to SAA Academic Honor Roll
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern College saw 128 student-athletes named to the 2015-16 Southern Athletic Association Winter and Spring Academic Honor Rolls. By maintaining a 3.25 grade point average during the winter and spring, the student-athletes from 13 different sports join a prestigious group recognized across the league.

Women’s Swimming named Scholar All-America Team
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the third consecutive year, Birmingham-Southern College women’s swimming was named one of the College Swimming Coaches Association of American Scholar All-America teams, the organization announced Wednesday. Only teams with a program grade point average of 3.00 or higher receive the honor. The Panthers finished with a 3.21 team GPA.

Jones Named Assistant AD for Media Relations, Erreca Moves to Compliance
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Birmingham-Southern College Athletics Director Kyndall Waters has named Jennifer Jones the new assistant athletic director for media relations. Jones takes over for Sarah Erreca, who shifted to assistant A.D. for compliance this summer.

Birmingham-Southern Ranks 55th in Director's Cup
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Birmingham-Southern College athletics successful 2015-16 season ranks among the best in all of NCAA Division III. The Panthers finished the year ranked 55th out of 323 in the final Learfield Sports Director’s Cup standings, the organization released Monday. This is the highest ranking for BSC since the 2012-13 season, where they also finished 55th.
