  • Panther Profile: Alex Makarenko

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Alex Makarenko (Sewanee, GA/ Peach Tree Ridge High School) is a recent graduate of Birmingham-Southern College. He played on the men’s tennis team all four of his years on the Hilltop and is a three-time Southern Athletic Association All-Conference selection.
  • Men’s Golf Received Votes in Final Regular Season Poll

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern College men’s golf team closed out its 2017 season receiving votes in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll. The Panthers were one of the six Southern Athletic Association teams recognized on the poll. BSC finished fourth at the conference championships and had the tournament co-champion Steven LaMay (Parkland, Fla./Westminster Academy).

  • Panther Profile: Robert Dozier

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Robert Dozier (Jacksonville, Fla./ Episcopal School of Jacksonville) was a senior on the men’s lacrosse team at Birmingham-Southern College. He graduated with a degree in business and an art minor last month. Dozier credits his parents in his choice of what to study at BSC.

The Panthers accounted for two NCAA Division III National Championships, five conference titles, 39 all-region selections, and over 100 all-conference nods among other honors.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After a stellar weekend at the 2017 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Kameren Morgan (Bowie, Md./St. Alban’s School for Boys) and Jamal Watkins (Hampton, Ga./Dodge City CC) were named U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Americans.

    ATLANTA – The Southern Athletic Association announced the 2017 Spring Sports All-Sportsmanship Teams and 79 student-athletes among the league’s eight full-time members received recognition. Formed in 2011, the SAA places a special emphasis on good sportsmanship and fair play among all competitors.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Junior Jamal Watkins (Hampton, Ga./Dodge City CC) picked up his second NCAA Division III national title Saturday as he won the 100 meter dash in a stadium and personal record time of 10.34. Birmingham-Southern men’s track and field would finish 14th overall as a team at national’s.
  • NCAA Championships: Watkins Posts Top Time in Prelims

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Junior Jamal Watkins (Hampton, Ga./Dodge City CC) ran the top time in the 100 meter dash preliminaries Friday afternoon at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships to represent Birmingham-Southern on day two. He has now qualified for three finals in all three of his events this weekend.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern softball sophomores Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) and Savannah Lee (Lascassas, Tenn./Oakland HS) concluded their seasons by being named National Fastpitch Coaches Association Third-Team All-Americans. BSC was one of five schools with two student-athletes chosen.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Six Panthers will be representing Birmingham-Southern men’s track and field at the 2017 NCAA Division III National Championships May 25-27 in Geneva, Ohio. The Panthers are coming off their second consecutive Southern Athletic Association championship. They qualified in hammer throw, the 100 and 200 meters, and the 4x100 relay.

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball saw four Panthers named to D3baseball.com All-South Region teams, the organization announced Tuesday. BSC finished its season in the central region championship with a 39-10 record.

    SAUGET, Ill. – The No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball team fell 3-2 Sunday to North Central College in the NCAA Sauget Regional Championship. The game went to the 11th inning before NCC put across the game winning run in a walk off walk.

    SAUGET, Ill. – No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball overcame an afternoon loss to advance to the NCAA Sauget Regional final. After falling to 5-0 to North Central College, the Panthers (39-9) pulled out the 6-1 semifinal win over Wartburg College to advance to their second regional final in three years.
  • NCAA Regionals: Late Rally Leads No. 6 Panthers to 6-4 Win

    SAUGET, Ill. – A late game rally helped propel the No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball team to its 6-4 second round win at the Sauget Regional of the NCAA Tournament over Webster University. BSC (38-8) will now face the winner of North Central College and Wartburg College in the regional semifinal on Saturday.
  • Logan Harris Named Women’s Head Coach

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern College Director of Athletics Kyndall Waters has named Logan Harris the Panthers new head women’s lacrosse coach. Hired as an assistant coach this past fall, Harris will take the helm beginning June 1.
  • NCAA Regionals: No. 6 Panthers Open with 14-6 Win

    SAUGET, Ill. – No. 6 Birmingham-Southern baseball used a big seventh inning to secure the 14-6 win over Greenville College in game one of the NCAA Sauget Regional Thursday afternoon. BSC improved to 37-8 with the win and advances to the next round. They will play at 3:30 p.m.
  • Lee, Crumpton Named NFCA First-Team All-Region

    BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomores Savannah Lee (Lascassas, Tenn./Oakland HS) and Haley Crumpton (Alabaster, Ala./Thompson HS) were named to the All-Atlantic First Team by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association this week. This is Crumpton’s second first-team all-region selection. Lee earned third-team honors last year.
  • NCAA Regional: Panthers Top Seed in Central Regional

    Washington University maintained a lock as the top team in the Central region and with the map's dictates, the NCAA placed South Region member Birmingham-Southern here as the top seeded team in the Sauget Regional. It is not common to see the top ranked team moved out of their region but geography made this choice necessary, as BSC was more than 500 miles from every other regional.
