Softball hosts Russell Athletics Panther Spring Fling, Friday and Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – With a record of 6-2 for the best start in program history, the Birmingham-Southern softball team hosts the 2006 Russell Athletics Panther Spring Fling, Friday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 25. Also participating in the tournament are Mississippi Valley State, Southeastern Louisiana, and Stephen F. Austin.
The Spring Fling kicks off Friday at 1 p.m. with MVSU taking on Stephen F. Austin, followed by Southeastern Louisiana versus MVSU at 3 p.m. BSC plays in both night games, facing SFA at 5 p.m. and SLU at 7 p.m.
Saturday's action begins at 9 a.m. as SLU and SFA face off, followed by the Panthers taking on MVSU at 11 a.m. After that, bracket play commences, with the tournament culminating in the championship game at 7 p.m.
All games take place at BSC Softball Park and will have live stats available for viewing online at www.bscsports.net.
