BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Birmingham-Southern outscored Southeastern Bible College 22-4 to open the second half en route to a 93-76 win here Saturday in Bill Battle Coliseum.

The Panthers improved to 4-3 on the season and will wrap up its pre-Christmas schedule on Tuesday at Huntingdon College in Montgomery, Ala., at 7 p.m.  The Sabers fell to 6-8 on the season.

Southeastern got out of the gates quickly building a 14-2 lead to start the contest. John Maul, who had 16 points and 10 rebounds, nailed a jumper at the 16:21 mark to supply the 12-point cushion.

The Sabers maintained the lead until the 10-minute mark.  BSC went on a 9-2 run to cut the lead to 32-27 on a Jordan Schultz lay-up with 7:12 left. 

Birmingham-Southern took its first lead of the contest with 5:09 left in the first half half. Nathan West hit a three to give the Panthers a 35-34 lead before the teams battled to a 40-40 tie at intermission.

The Panthers opened the second half with a 7-0 run that was part of a 22-4 run. A West three gave BSC a 62-44 lead with 12:54 to play.  SEBC would cut the lead to 12 twice but could not climb any closer.

Aaron Parr led three Panthers in double figures with 16 points followed by West with 14 and Marcus Goodman with 12. Schultz pitched in nine points while Roger Williams and Michael Rebarchak led BSC on the boards with six apiece.  

Mullins led SEBC with 18 points.
