SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Birmingham-Southern men placed first and the women placed second at the Tiger Twilight Cross Country Invitational, hosted by Sewanee, Friday evening.
Freshman Robert Willett was the top runner for BSC, placing second overall with a time of 27:36.70, followed by junior Will Gurley at fourth with a time of 28:15.22. Junior Richard Tsao placed seventh with a time of 28:43.93, freshman David Olsen was eighth with a time of 29:22.12, and junior Reed Kramer was ninth with a time of 29:24.78. Freshmen Colby Herrington and Zac Cook finished 12th and 13th with times of 30:24.73 and 30:40.41, respectively.
On the women's side, junior Mary Elaine Williamson finished fourth overall with a time of 24:04.80, followed by juniors Caitlin Hodges at sixth with a time of 24:16.71 and Aly Goldfarb at seventh with a time of 24:24.41. Junior Katie Sack placed ninth with a time of 24:59.43, junior Emily Moore placed 10th with a time of 25:02.04, and freshman Mindy Rogers was 13th with a time of 25:15.08. Junior newcomer Lexi Sack finished 17th with a time of 27:09.12, sophomore Maggie Zernick was 18th with a time of 27:11.63, and junior Hannah Scott was 21st with a time of 27:53.71.
Both teams take a break until Nov. 14, when they travel to Rome, Ga., for the Transitional School Championships.
