Joe Thigpen named SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week

SUWANEE, Ga. - Birmingham-Southern quarterback Joe Thigpen has been selected the SCAC Football Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played Saturday, October 17.
Thigpen, a 6-2, 215 pound junior from Crestview, Fla. completed 14-of-28 passes for 235 yards and two touchdown passes in a 25-28 win at Austin College. He also rushed 19 times for 59 yards (3.1 avg.) and scored the game-winning touchdown on an 11-yard run midway through the fourth quarter.
The award is the second for the Panthers this season. Walter Arrington won the honor back in week four.
