KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) named BSC sophomore striker Tyler Evans to the 2009 All-South Atlantic Region Third Team for his accomplishments on the field for the Panthers this season.

The award is the first All-Region honor for the men’s soccer team since joining Division III.  Tyler was the only player named from the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference from the South-Atlantic Region.

The Panama City, Fla. native led the Panthers on offense on the year, scoring 14 goals on the season.  That, combined with his six assists gave him a team-leading 34 points for the year.  Evans led the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference in points (34), goals (14), and goals per game average (0.78) and finished a close second in four other categories (shots, shots per game, points per game, and game winning goals).

His offensive production played an obvious part in the Panthers’ eleven wins.  Evans netted the game winner five times during the season against Mississippi College, Washington and Lee University, Huntingdon College, and conference foes Hendrix College and Sewanee.

The full list of honorees is available from the NSCAA here.
