BIRMINGHAM, Ala. Birmingham-Southern men's soccer coach Preston Goldfarb announced today the addition of Charles Boles to the 2009 recruiting class.

A three-year starting goalkeeper for George Jenkins High School, Boles (6'2", 195 lbs.) was named to the All-District and All-County teams his last two seasons and has been nominated for All-State for the 2008-09 season.  As a junior at GJHS, Charles helped lead the Eagles to a district championship.  His senior season finished with a return to the district final, 12 shut outs and a .30 Goals Against Average allowing only 7 goals in 23 games.   Boles holds a school and county record of 17 shutouts recorded during his junior year.

Charles also has experience at the club level with the Oldsmar Soccer Club.  OSC won the 2008 Discovery Cup where Boles collected three shutouts against Top 25-ranked clubs.

Named team captain for his junior and senior seasons at GJHS, Boles will be a strong addition for the Panthers.  The Lakeland, Fla. native plans to study Computer Science at BSC.

Boles joins Shalom Gildin (Fla.), Clint Lum (Texas), Alex Perrotta (Ga.) and Kyle Sherrin (Ala.) in the 2009 recruiting class.
