COLORADO SPRINGS - The Birmingham-Southern men's lacrosse team dropped a tough one on the road this afternoon at Colorado College, 21-4. The loss drops the Panthers to 3-6 on the season while the Tigers improved to 3-3.
Colorado College outshot the Panthers 60-17 on the day. The other categories were closer, but only the save category was in BSC's favor. The Tigers won the ground balls 45-33, faceoffs 18-10, and clears 21-20. The Panthers had 16 saves to the Tigers' 5, but they also commited 10 more turnovers, 39-29.
Christopher Buechele led the Panthers in scoring with two goals.
D.J. Ward and
Dylan Krupa each added a goal to reach the total four for the team. Ward and
Jacob McPherson each had an assist to add to their lines.
The Panthers will return to Panther Stadium this weekend to host Trine University for a 7:00 p.m. match following the women's game with Trine at 4:00. The double-header is one of only two such series this season at Panther Stadium.
