ROME, Ga. -
The Birmingham-Southern women's golf team has claimed its fifth tournament win of the 2008-09 season today at the Stonebridge Women's Invitational hosted by Berry College.  The Panthers finished with four of the top 10 golfers in the individual standings to take the team win by 11 strokes.

The Panthers win at Stonebridge closes out the most sucessful season of BSC women's golf in program history.  The Panthers fiftth tournament win is a feat almost unheard of in women's collegiate golf. 

Jordan Hardy led the way both days for the Panthers, shooting a tournament low 72 (par) for the second round.  Her combined score of 149, 5-over,  fell just three stokes shy of the individual champion.  Rachel Ingram of Lee University turned in two identical 73's in both rounds to finish atop the leaderboard with a 146, 2-over.

BSC took team honors thanks to strong play down the Panther's card.  Kelley Burgess tied for fourth place overall with her combined 151, 7-over; and Ashley Lovell finished in seventh with a 152, 8-over. 

Savannah A&D finished in second place with 627, host Berry College placed third with 629, Shorter College was fourth at 649, and West Georgia rounded out the top five with a combined 654.
