DEMOREST, Ga. -
The BSC baseball team traveled to Georgia to complete a non-conference series with Piedmont College that was shortened due to weather back in March.  The Panthers got the series sweep of the Lions, 6-4 at Loudermilk Field.

The Panthers took the lead in the third and didn't give it up.  A lead-off walk to Rand Hutchison and a wild pitch got the first run in with a Sam Hill single.  Darby Weppner drove in J.D. Hulse on the next at bat.  Then Brian Higginbotham finished the inning with a single to plate Hill.

Sam Hill led the Panthers with three hits and two RBI's in the game, getting his second in the sixth with a triple with Hutchison on second.

Jesse Meier got his second win of the season with a strong start.  The freshman from nearby Stone Mountain, Ga. went six innings for the Panthers, allowing six hits and two runs.  He got two walks and a strike out in his fourth start at the collegiate level.

BSC outhit the Lions 11-6 on the day and got their errors down to just three to Piedmont's one.

The Panthers will travel to Greensboro, N.C. Friday to face the Greensboro College Pride.  First pitch is slated for 1:00 Eastern.
