GREENSBORO, N.C. -
The BSC Panthers split the first of two seven-inning double-headers at Greensboro College today.  Dropping game one 12-4 before picking up game two 9-7.  The Panthers are now 27-10 on the season with two to play.

The Panthers were outgunned in the first game of the day, allowing 16 Pride hits compared to just seven for BSC.  As a result, the Panthers spent the morning playing catch-up.  After giving up two runs in the first inning, BSC tied the game in the top half of the second and took a one-run lead in the top of the third before losing the lead for good in the bottom half of the inning.  The Pride scored three runs to go up 5-3 and didn't look back.

Game two was much more balanced.  The two teams level-peged with each other into the fifth inning.  The Pride scored first, again with two in the first.  The Panthers answered in the second with two to tie the score, and both teams put up four in the fourth.

The Panthers took the lead in the top of the fifth on a two run single from Patrick Kimmons.  Greensboro cut the lead to one for the Panthers in the bottom half of the inning, but BSC responded right back with another run in the sixth to seal the win.  Brandon Ricco led off the inning with a double and was driven in by Darby Weppner three batters later.

The Panthers will close out the 2009 season tomorrow with another double-header against the Pride.  First pitch is at 11 a.m. central for another two seven-inning games.
