Women's Lacrosse drops 21-5 decision to Christopher Newport

SEWANEE, Tenn. -
The Birmingham-Southern women's lacrosse team lost today by the score of 21-5 to Christopher Newport University in a neutral-site contest in Sewanee, Tenn. Newport moves to 13-5 with the win, while BSC falls to 4-6.

CNU led 12-3 after the first 30 minutes of play, and out-scored BSC 9-2 in the second half.

Lyndsay Griffin led the Panthers with four goals, while goalkeeper Katie Bates made nine saves.

CNU led in shots, 33-19, ground balls, 13-11, and draw controls, 14-10, and the Panthers committed 17 turnovers to CNU's 13. CNU was also 3-6 on free position attempts while BSC was 1-8.

The Panthers are on the road for the final two games of the season, traveling to Naperville, Ill., to face North Central College, May 1, and University of Dallas, May 2.
