BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - BSC baseball coach Jan Weisberg has announced the addition of Chase Brookshire of Chattanooga to pitch for the Panthers next year.

Chase is a 6-0 hurler out of McCallie High School in Chattanooga.  A three-year starter for the Tornados, he was named the 2009 Best of the Preps All-City Player of the Year.  In 2008 he participated in the Sun Belt Classic, where he helped Team Tennessee to a second place finish.

In his senior season, Chase was 5-1 for McCallie in 11 appearances with a team-leading 0.84 in seven inning games.  He struck out a total of 68 hitters while walking just nine in 49 and two thirds innings pitched and threw three complete games.

In addition to an outstanding record on the field, Chase has taken care of business off the diamond as well.  He was named to the honor roll, the Faculty Recognition List, and graduated with a cumulative 3.4 G.P.A. (3.7 senior year).  Chase plans to study Business Administration when he arrives on the Hilltop this Fall.
