BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – BSC baseball coach Jan Weisberg has announced the addition of Stephen Denton, of Madison, to next season’s roster.
Denton is a 5’11” center fielder out of Bob Jones High School in Madison. A four-year varsity starter for the Patriots, he led his team in hits (24), stolen bases (24), and batting average (.375). For his efforts he was named to the 2008 East-West All-Star Game and the 2008 Huntsville Sports Writers Association All-Metro Team.
Stephen excelled off the field as well, as a member of the National Honor Society from 2007-09. He was also named an AP Scholar in 2008, as well as being on the Academic Honor Roll from 2006-09.
Denton will look to continue setting high academic marks as a freshman on the Hilltop. Stephen has been awarded a BSC Trustee Scholarship for the Fall of 2009.
Stephen is the son of Keith and Michele Denton, he has two brothers, Matthew and Philip.
