HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. – Despite a career-high 23 points from junior Katelyn Wilson, the Birmingham-Southern women’s basketball team lost on the road again today, falling 74-70 to Rust College in Holly Springs, Miss. The Panthers fall to 7-6 with their third straight loss.

Rust jumped out to an early lead that BSC was never able to overcome. The Lady Bearcats led 32-26 at the half.

Wilson posted 23 points and seven rebounds, followed by freshman Alex Adams with 14 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Sophomore Sam Davidson led with three assists.

The Panthers shot 46 percent for the game and went 8-of-20 (40 percent) from three-point range. BSC was also 14-of-18 (77.8 percent) from the free-throw line. BSC out-rebounded Rust, 32-18, but committed 19 turnovers.

The Lady Bearcats shot well, going 60 percent from the field in the second half and 10-of-20 (50 percent) on three-pointers for the game.

BSC stays on the road next weekend, traveling west to take on Colorado College, Friday, Jan. 15, at 7 p.m. CT, and then Austin College, Sunday, Jan. 17, at noon.
