COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Birmingham-Southern Panthers got their western road trip off to a good start this evening, defeating the Colorado College Tigers 75-60.  The win moves BSC to 13-1 overall and 4-1 in SCAC-play.

The win was hard-fought for the Panthers with five separate lead changes in the first half alone.  None of the leads were larger than five points.  The Tigers took a 33-28 lead into the intermission.

It took the Panthers almost ten minutes in the second half to regain the lead.  Aaron Parr scored two of his team-leading 14 points with a jumper to give 'Southern a 44-33 lead.  The Panther point guard sparked a 15-1 run over the next seven minutes to put BSC up for good.  The Tigers never got closer than five points again, including at the buzzer to secure the final margin of 70-65.

Kevin Kegarise also scored in double-figures for the Panthers with 12 points. The Panthers' shooting from the floor was a chilly 37 percent in the thin mountain air.  Thankfully, the home team did not fare any better, shooting just 40 percent.  The numbers from three were even worse, with BSC going a paltry 4-of-15 for 27 percent and Colorado College only slightly better at 12-of-33 for 37 percent.

The Panthers' road trip continues this Sunday as BSC moves on to Sherman, Texas to take on the Austin College Kangaroos.  Game time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
