BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern student-athletes helped kick off the holiday season this week by ringing bells and volunteering with the Salvation Army's red kettle campaign.

After participating last year for three days in early December, BSC's student-athletes and coaches decided to volunteer again this season, covering three full-day shifts this past Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at Brookwood Village in Birmingham.

BSC's athletic department believes in the importance of servant leadership, and encourages its athletic teams to participate in several service learning projects throughout the year.
