BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Birmingham-Southern men's athletic program has finished first in the Southern Athletic Association men's all-sport race as part of the Presidents Trophy standings, the league office announced this week.
With 435 points in the men's standings, BSC finished ahead of Centre with 402.5 and Rhodes with 397.5 points. In the overall Presidents Trophy standings, which takes into account all sports that a program participates in, Birmingham-Southern placed third with 757.5 points, behind winner Rhodes (845) and Centre (830).
The Panthers finished in the top three in six of 10 men's sports, including first-place finishes in men's swimming and diving, in which BSC won the 2015 SAA Championship, and baseball, in which the Panthers won the regular season title and will face Rhodes this weekend for the tournament championship.
In the women's standings, BSC had five top-three finishes and finished fifth in the overall standings.
