BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The BSC Panthers stretched their current winning streak to seven games this afternoon, thanks to a 10-3 victory over the visiting Greenville Panthers.
#JD Hulse# platted the first BSC run in the third off a single from #Drew Leachman#. #Sam Hill# added to the lead on the next at-bat with his third homer on the season, a long drive to right, putting the Panthers up three. Leachman drove in the Panthers' fourth run in the bottom of the fifth with another single up the middle.
Greenville broke the shutout in the top of the sixth with two which the Panthers quickly regained in the bottom half. Hulse drove in one and Leachman collected his third RBI of the day putting the Panthers up 6-2. Three more in the seventh, including a long ball from #Blake Walley# (his first homerun of the season).
Greenville was unable to match the Panthers prolific offense, even though they did get one last run in the top of the ninth. BSC amassed 13 hits in the game with a single error. Greenville managed nine hits for three runs and three errors.
#Clay Malcolm# collected his fourth win of the year with eight innings of work. The south paw gave up seven hits and allowed two of the Greenville runs, striking out four. Andy Rinckner took the loss for Greenville in six innings.
The Panthers will return tomorrow afternoon to face Greenville again at 11 a.m. before taking on Capital University at 5:30 p.m.
