Oglethorpe got on the board first in the top of the second on a sacrifice fly from Andrew Lofholm, plating Chris Lucas. The Panthers rattled off the next ten runs to take control of the game. The first of which, came in the bottom of the fourth. A Panther hit and a Petrel error allowed #Brandon Ricco# and #Sam Hill# to cross in the inning, giving the Panthers the lead for good.
The Panthers iced the game in the next inning, as the Petrel hurlers surrendered six runs on five hits. #Josh Whitaker# reached on a lead-off walk and later scored on a Ricco single up the middle. Ricco scored on a single to right by #Brian Higginbotham#. Darby Weppner collected his third homer of the season in the bottom of the seventh to tack two more to the Panther line. The ball cruised out of the ball park almost clearing the right field retention net. Ricco touched the plate for a game-leading third time in the eighth along with #Jacob Plagens# off a Leachman double to right capping off the Panther scoring for the game.
Drew Leachman also provided some defensive fireworks in the game with two lay-out catches in left, preventing Petrel runs in the process. #Clay Malcolm# picked up his sixth win of the season with the start, going six innings and giving up four hits and a run. #Frank Mullens# pitched one-and-two-thirds before #Alex Goodsell# came in for the last out of the seventh to wrap things up for the Panthers.
