Baseball returns to the diamond for fall practice

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Panther Baseball Team returns to friendly confines of Striplin Field this week as they begin practices for the fall semester.

The Panthers have 36 student-athletes participating in fall practice led by second-year Head Coach Jan Weisberg, assisted by Drew Briese and Tyler Shrout.  This year’s squad welcomes 12 first-year players who are looking to help build upon a successful 2008 season.

“It's very exciting to get back out on the field,” said Weisberg. “We have a lot of things to accomplish over the next few weeks but it is feels good to back out there coaching.”

BSC is coming off a 20-win season last year in their inaugural year of NCAA Division III competition.

Fall practices continue through October 22 and will conclude with a Black and Gold Series.  The inter-squad dates are tentatively set for October 20^th, 21^st, and 22^nd and are open to the public.
