Panthers win big, 22-3 over Arcadia
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Panthers overpowered Arcadia University for the second time in two days, defeating the Knights 22-3 in today’s second game at Striplin Field.
BSC (6-1) scored 16 runs in the first three innings, including a ten-run third, to bury the Knights early on.
#Bruce Maxwell# had a big game at the plate driving in four runs on four hits in five appearances, including two homeruns. The freshman led off the second inning with a long ball to left center that put BSC up 2-0 and helped cap the night with a two-run shot deep over the left field wall making the score 21-3.
Arcadia (0-3) put up all their runs in the bottom of the second thanks to three walks and a hit batter from #Jesse Meier#. Meier collected the win despite the rocky inning in four innings of work.
The Panthers will return to Striplin Field tomorrow for a single game with Huntingdon College, game time is slated for 2:30 following a mid-morning matchup between Mount St. Joseph and Arcadia at 11:00.
