Panthers crack top 25

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern baseball team is ranked 22nd in the current Top 25 for the period ending March 7.

This is the first ranking for the Panthers since joining Division III. The poll is voted on by a panel of 25 coaches, sports writers, and sports information directors across the country.

Birmingham-Southern is the only SCAC member in the rankings this week, though several others are in the receiving votes category.

The Panthers great start, 12-1, coupled with their weekend win over then #11 Adrian College helped propel the Panthers into the rankings. Monday’s win over now #18 Adrian had not been factored in at the time the poll was taken.

The Panthers will look to continue their climb up the D-3 ranks tonight as they host Division III provisional member Berry College at 6:00 p.m. at Striplin Field.
