BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A.J. Gomez, a 6’2” 220 pound catcher/pitcher combo from Niceville, Fla., has announced his intent to enroll at Birmingham-Southern.
Gomez’s accolades include being named an Under Armour Pre-Season All-American as well as being named to the All-Conference Team. As a senior, Gomez excelled offensively and defensively. His batting average was .350 and he threw out 75% of base runners. Gomez was also a letter winner for the Niceville High football team.
In addition to being a standout athlete, Gomez has been recognized for superior achievement in the classroom. He is a member of the National Honor Society and he graduated from Niceville High Summa Cum Laude. He was also the recipient of the Triple A and Annie T. Mitchell Academic Awards.
