BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The American Baseball Coaches Association has released the 2010 All-South Region Team with five Panthers adding their names to the list of honorees.

#John Naramore#, a senior from Vestavia Hills, Ala., #Drew Leachman#, a junior from Mobile, Ala., and #Brandon Ricco#, a junior from Helena, Ala., have all been named to the First Team.

Naramore led the Panthers on the mound this season with a flawless 8-0 record.  His 2.79 ERA led the team as well as placing him second in the SCAC on the season.  He led the league in wins.  This is the second post-season award for the senior.  John also made the All-SCAC team in April.

Leachman led BSC in two offensive categories, runs scored and triples.  His 61 trips across home plate ranks first in the SCAC as do his five triples.  This is the second post-season award for Drew after his All-SCAC selection.  It is also his second selection to the All-South Region Team after making the list in 2009 as well.

Ricco led the Panthers in three offensive categories, batting average (.473), on-base percentage (.511), and hits (79). He collected the most hits of any player in the SCAC, besting his teammate Drew Leachman, in second, by eight hits. This is the second post-season award for Brandon after being named to the All-SCAC Team.

Maxwell was named the SCAC Newcomer of the Year for his outstanding freshman season on the Hilltop. The first baseman led the conference in home runs with 15 and also finished second in slugging percentage (.860) and runs batted in (61). He led the team in all those categories as well. This is the third post-season honor for Maxwell after taking the Newcomer of the Year and a spot on the All-SCAC team.

Hill provided pop offensively as well as steady defensive leadership behind the plate for the Panthers all season long. He led the SCAC with 15 doubles and finished second in the league in walks with 32. He led both categories on the team. For his efforts Hill earned his second straight All-SCAC honors. This is also his second All-South Region honor after making the 2009 Team.
