No. 9 Panthers win fifth straight with 15-3 victory over Lynchburg College

DEMOREST, Ga.—
The ninth-ranked Birmingham-Southern baseball team won its fifth straight game on Saturday, defeating Lynchburg College, 15-3, to move to 7-1 on the season.

Sophomore Bruce Maxwell led the Panthers with three of their 15 hits, while senior Sam Hill led with five RBIs, thanks to a grand slam in the top of the eighth inning.

The BSC pitching staff held Lynchburg to only six hits, with junior Jordan Burchett getting the win after starting and throwing 5.1 innings and giving up four hits and three earned runs with two strikeouts. Senior Michael McCalib, freshman Ethan Netherton, and senior Brooks Webb all also saw action on the mound for BSC.

The Panthers are back on the diamond on Sunday, taking on Piedmont College at 4 p.m. ET.
