Maxwell earns second straight SCAC Player-of-the-Week nod

SUWANEE, Ga.—Bruce Maxwell has been named SCAC Player-of-the-Week for games played Monday, March 28 through Sunday, April 3. It is the second week in a row that Maxwell has earned the honor.

Maxwell, a 6-2, 225-pound sophomore from Toney, Ala., went 11-of-18 (.611) over five games this week at the plate, helping the Panthers to a 4-1 record including a three-game conference sweep of Sewanee.

He recorded 11 RBI and six doubles with a .944 slugging percentage. Maxwell also had 17 total bases and a .636 on-base percentage.

In the field, where he played both catcher and first base, he made 42 putouts with two assists and no errors.

Maxwell and the Panthers are in action on the road this weekend for a conference series against DePauw in Greencastle, Ind.
