Baseball adds Mobile stand-out Tanner McGill

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Tanner McGill, a catcher out of St. Paul's Episcopal School in Mobile, Ala., has completed his intent to enroll this fall and committed to play for the Birmingham-Southern baseball team next season, Head Coach Jan Weisberg announced today.

McGill was a three-year starting catcher with a career batting average of over .400 with 12 home runs and 85 RBI. He was named 2011 First-Team All-Region and a 2011 East-West Shrine All-Star. In 2009, McGill was named All-State Honorable Mention by the Mobile Press-Register, and earned a spot on the Alabama High School Coaches All-Star Team. He graduated from St. Paul's with a 3.8 grade point average and plans to study pre-law.
