Panthers jump to seventh in D3baseball.com, Collegiate Baseball polls

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Newly-crowned SCAC champions, the Birmingham-Southern baseball team has moved up to seventh in both the D3baseball.com and Collegiate Baseball polls this week.

The Panthers are 35-7 overall and defeated Millsaps, 21-4, on Sunday to win the SCAC title in their first year of post-season eligibility. They will begin NCAA regional play, May 16.

BSC garnered 439 points this week to move from 11th to seventh in the D3baseball.com poll, 51 points behind Christopher Newport. Marietta ranks first in the nation with 612 points. In the Collegiate Baseball poll, the Panthers moved from ninth to seventh, getting 192 points, just three behind sixth-place Wheaton. Marietta also ranks first in that poll with 238 points.
