Baseball lands three on CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Senior Miles Nordgren and juniors Jacob Mayfield and Blake Stevens all earned Capital One Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), it was announced this week.

Nordgren, a mathematics major from Gadsden, Ala., holds a 3.79 grade point average. He earned First-Team All-Conference honors this season. Mayfield, a biology major from Gadsden, Ala., holds a 3.75 GPA and also earned First-Team All-Conference accolades. Stevens, a business administration major from Atlanta, holds a 3.78 GPA. He was named 2014 Southern Athletic Association Pitcher of the Year and was also a First-Team All-SAA selection.

All three players will now be considered for Academic All-America honors.

The 15th-ranked baseball team is in action at home this Monday, May 5, and Tuesday, May 6, taking on Rhodes for the SAA championship. Monday's game begins at 6 p.m., while Tuesday's game is at 1 p.m., directly followed by game three if necessary.
