DEMOREST, Ga.—No. 12 Birmingham-Southern's first-round NCAA South Regional game against Bridgewater College was halted this evening due to rain in the Demorest, Ga., area.

The game was scoreless in the top of the fourth when rain moved in. Play will resume tomorrow, weather and field conditions permitting, with Bridgewater batting in the top of the fourth.

Junior starter Blake Stevens worked his way out of a jam in the top of the first inning, retiring two straight batters after allowing Bridgwater runners to get to first and third. The Panthers had a chance to score in the bottom of the first. Sophomore Matt Brown led off with a single and went to second on a wild pitch. A ground-out by senior Evan Grovenstein allowed Brown to go to third, followed by a fielder's choice by junior Jacob Mayfield which ended in Brown being out at home after a run-down.

Heavy rain halted play in the top of the fourth with one out and one runner on second for the Eagles. Check back tomorrow for more details about when the game will resume. For real-time updates, be sure to follow BSC on Twitter and Facebook.
