Nordgren, Stevens voted CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-America

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Demonstrating their prowess in the classroom as well as on the baseball diamond, Birmingham-Southern hurlers Miles Nordgren and Blake Stevens were named Capital One Academic All-Americans this week by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Nordgren, a recent BSC graduate from Gadsden, Ala., received his degree in mathematics with a 3.80 final grade point average. He was named Second-Team Academic All-America.

Stevens, a rising senior from Atlanta, is a business administration major with a 3.92 GPA and was voted Third-Team Academic All-America.

Both players received numerous accolades this season, both earning All-American and All-South Region honors from and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Stevens was also named South Region Pitcher of the Year by both organizations, as well as Southern Athletic Association Pitcher of the Year. He and Nordgren were also named First-Team All-SAA as well as SAA All-Tournament.
