Blake Stevens named Capital One Academic All-America

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern pitcher Blake Stevens has been voted a Capital One Academic All-American, it was announced this week by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Stevens graduated on May 16 with a degree in business administration and a 3.79 grade point average. He earned First-Team All-America honors from American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings and D3baseball.com, and was named D3baseball.com Pitcher of the Year. Stevens was also voted South Region Pitcher of the Year and First-Team All-Region by D3baseball.com and the ABCA, and repeated as the Southern Athletic Association Pitcher of the Year and First-Team All-Conference. He ranked second in the nation this year in strikeouts with 108, and was fourth in the SAA with a 1.70 ERA. Stevens was also named BSC Male Athlete of the Year and was a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
