BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—In game one of the annual end-of-fall Black and Gold baseball series, the Black team won 10-6 using two home runs and out-hitting the Gold team 11-5.

Black scored three times in the top of the first. Brayden Housel led off the game with a double, followed by a Jacob Dresher single. A sacrifice fly by freshman Mason Englet and a two-out RBI from freshman Eric Wilson led to the final two runs of the inning.

Junior right-hander Stephen Himic got the win for Black, going the first four innings of the eight- inning game, giving up only three hits while striking out five Gold hitters and walking one. Freshman John Michael Shirley got the loss.

The Black team out-hit Gold 11-5 with four extra-base hits, including home runs by Matt Brown leading off the top of the third (his third home run of the fall) and a three-run home run by Wilson in the seventh to seal the game for Black. It was the 10th consecutive game with a home run for the Panthers this fall.

The Black team was paced offensively by Wilson who went 3-4 with four RBI, and Housel who went 3-5 with three runs scored. Freshman catcher AJ Hunt led the Gold team with two hits.
