Garfinkle pleased with second preseason practice

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. The Birmingham-Southern football team was on the field today for its second preseason practice of the 2008 season.

Practicing in helmets and shorts, the Panthers built on yesterday's focus on fundamentals with an extra focus on attention to detail today, said head coach Eddie Garfinkle.

"I definitely saw an improvement today," Garfinkle commented. "We challenged the players today to pay more attention to detail, and they definitely responded which made for a good practice."

The Panthers are back on the field tomorrow at 9 a.m., with practice being moved to the morning due to the possibility of inclement weather in the afternoon.

BSC practices at 4 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday and has its first two-a-day this Friday with practices scheduled for 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. The Panthers then have their first preseason scrimmage of 2008 this Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
