September 9, 2008 BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Birmingham-Southern football team held the first of three practices this week, taking advantage of its off week to continue to work on fundamentals and improve on its weak points.

“We went in full pads today and worked heavily on fundamentals,” head coach Eddie Garfinkle said. “At the end of practice, we concluded with a full-speed situational scrimmage with the One Offense versus the One Defense. I was particularly impressed with the attitude and work ethic of the starting offensive line of Ryan Creel, Lee Hopf, Teddy Morris, Cameron Horton, and Jonathan Jones.”

BSC returns to the gridiron next Saturday, Sept. 20, traveling to face Rhodes College in Memphis, Tenn., at 1 p.m.
