Panthers back to practice, looking to rebound from Rhodes loss

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- After a disappointing 35-7 loss to Rhodes College in Memphis this past Saturday, the Birmingham-Southern football team was back on the gridiron today for practice.

"We got on the practice field today to begin our second week of practice with an open date," head coach Eddie Garfinkle said. "We had a full-speed scrimmage, ones versus ones and twos versus twos. We have to become a more physical team on both sides of the ball and on special teams if we want to improve."

The Panthers are off this week but return to action at home next Saturday, Oct. 4, facing No. 21 Trinity University at noon at Regions Park in Hoover.
