Panthers to face No. 4 Millsaps in last game of 2008
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – In its last game of the season, the Birmingham-Southern football team takes on No. 4 Millsaps College, Saturday, at noon at Panther Stadium.
BSC stands at 3-6 on the season after winning its last two games, while the Majors are undefeated at 9-0.
The game will be BSC’s second in the new on-campus Panther Stadium.
Sophomore quarterback Joe Thigpen leads the BSC offense with 985 passing yards and eight touchdowns. Sophomore David Langston leads the Panthers on the ground with 548 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Sophomore Walter Arrington has also rushed for six touchdowns, and Thigpen has rushed for eight scores for a total of 16 on the season. Arrington and freshman Luke Chapman also lead BSC with three touchdown receptions apiece.
For Millsaps, Juan Joseph leads with 2,434 passing yards and 27 touchdowns, as well as 316 yards rushing and four touchdowns on the ground. Eric McCarty also leads with nine touchdown receptions.
