The players underwent conditioning tests today at 3:30 p.m., followed by a practice in shorts and helmets.
"I was very pleased with the conditioning test," head coach Eddie Garfinkle said. "All but four veteran players made their fifteen half-gassers for time. In practice, the number one offense executed very well. Defensively, however, you can tell we have not practiced in a while. We will have split practices tomorrow, with the freshmen practicing in the morning and the veterans practicing in the afternoon."
Freshman practice will take place Monday morning at 9:20 a.m., while practice for the returning players will be held at 4:30 p.m., both at Panther Stadium.
The Panthers kick off the 2009 season on the road against LaGrange College, Sept. 5, and the first home game is Sept. 12 at noon against Campbell.
