"We went out in full pads and we were able to get in a full speed one-on-one drill and a full-speed team drill (1 vs. 1 and 2 vs. 2) before lightning forced us to end practice early," Garfinkle said. "Compared to this time last year, we are much improved. We have had several big hits in practice the past three days. Last year during preseason it took two weeks before we had a big hit."
Tomorrow's schedule includes two practices, both in full pads, at 9:30 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. The Panthers kick off the 2009 season on Sept. 5 against LaGrange College on the road, and open their home slate on Sept. 12 against Campbell at noon in Panther Stadium.
