Arrington, a tailback from Hueytown, Ala., leads the team with 430 rushing yards and 921 all-purpose yards. He has scored six touchdowns, tying him for second on the squad, and broke the single-game rushing yards record earlier this season against Rhodes College. Arrington was named First-Team All-Conference last season, and earned SCAC Freshman of the Year and Second-Team All-Conference honors in 2007. He is a two-time member of the SCAC Fall Academic Honor Roll and is majoring in business with a 3.52 grade point average. Arrington plans to go into engineering after graduating from Birmingham-Southern.
Creel, an offensive lineman from Dora, Ala., leads an offensive line that has allowed the Panthers to rank second in the conference in rushing offense (175.5 yards/game). He has twice been named to the SCAC Fall Academic Honor Roll. Creel is a mathematics major and business minor with a 3.73 grade point average.
The Panthers currently stand at 4-4 on the season heading into this weekend's Homecoming game against Huntingdon College, in which the teams will face off for the first time and compete for the Wesley Cup, named for John Wesley, the principal founder of the Methodist movement in the 18th century. Kick-off is set for 1:30 p.m. at Panther Stadium.
