Football spring practice update

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Half way through the 2010 spring season, the Birmingham-Southern football team is making strides to prepare for another tough season on the gridiron this fall.

“We finished up our seventh practice out of 16 opportunities today,” head coach Eddie Garfinkle said. “Division III rules only allow practices in shorts, so it is hard to evaluate the actual progress. Our emphasis has been to install our offense, defense, and kicking game, but really slow down and not only teach our players what to do, but also why we are doing it. We are making a lot of progress in that area.”

The team’s final practice will take place on Saturday, April 24, at 9:30 a.m., which is BSC’s annual Football Family Day.
