Morris, a native of Pensacola, Fla., was also named SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week and BSC Piggly Wiggly Athlete of the Week yesterday. He had a record-setting game on Saturday against Millsaps, rushing for a program- and league-record 332 yards in the 35-21 win. The performance marks just the third 300+ yard rushing game by a SCAC back in league history and shatters the former single-game mark of 305 posted by Jeremy Boyce of Trinity University in a Nov. 3, 2001 contest against Sewanee.
Morris now owns BSC's top three rushing games, all coming this season. Morris also scored three touchdowns on the afternoon on runs of 41, 45, and 20 yards. He ends the season as league's leading rusher and scorer. Morris ran for 1,449 yards rushing (third-highest single-season total in SCAC history) and 17 touchdowns on the season.
Morris will be honored for his record-breaking performance this season at halftime of the men's basketball game against Huntingdon on Nov. 30, which tips off at 7 p.m.
Porter, who is from Atlanta, grabbed two interceptions on Saturday while recording three tackles.
