BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—After two straight losses and a week off, the Birmingham-Southern football team looks to rebound as it plays host to conference rival Millsaps this Saturday, Oct. 19, at 1 p.m. on Battle Field at Panther Stadium.

It will be the seventh meeting between the programs in the modern era of BSC football, with the Majors holding a 4-2 all-time series lead. The Panthers won in Jackson last season, 35-21, and were also victorious at home in 2011 by the same score. Prior to that, Millsaps had beaten BSC four straight times.

The Panthers (3-2, 1-1 SAA) most recently lost two straight, falling to Sewanee on the road, 31-28, on Oct. 5, and No. 11 Wesley, 46-12, in Birmingham on Sept. 28. Senior quarterback Tyson Beacham is 85-135 with 1,086 yards and eight touchdown passes. Junior tailback Issac Nichols leads on the ground with 420 yards rushing and six touchdowns, and junior wide receiver Sam Vermilyea leads with 408 receiving yards and four touchdown catches. On defense, senior linebacker Cameron Budzius leads with 35 tackles (23 unassisted), while junior safety Ty Keenum leads with three interceptions and junior linebacker Wesley Hansard leads with eight tackles-for-losses, including four sacks.

Millsaps (5-0, 1-0 SAA) is coming off a 27-24 road win against Trinity (Texas) last week. The Majors won on a 33-yard field goal by Beau Brady with 12 seconds left in the game. Junior quarterback Zak Thrasher is 65-105 with 811 yards and 10 touchdowns, and junior running back Mike Barthelemy leads with 635 yards and eight touchdowns. Junior wide receiver Trevor King has a team-high four touchdown catches, and junior Zach Bell leads the defense with 30 tackles (23 unassisted).

Saturday's game will feature live video on with play-by-play by Landrum Roberts, host of the BSC Football Review, as well as a free live game tracker.

The Panthers are on the road again after this weekend, facing first-year program Berry on Oct. 26 in Rome, Ga., before returning home for Homecoming and Senior Day against Rhodes on Nov. 2.
